Today my husband went to see a potential client who had just purchased a home. The client told him the home inspector had given the house the all clear.....but when Mike went through the house he saw nothing but problems. Mold, damp, foundation problems, etc.
He had to give the client the bad news that instead of a renovation quote, he was going to have to give him a quote just to get his house livable.
It saddens me to see how innocent people who are just trying to put a roof over their family's heads get taken advantage of. This, unfortunately, is due to greed. All the Real Estate Agent's were after was a sale, and all the Home Inspector was after was $.
It is so important to work with a Realtor who has your best interests at heart, one who doesn't put the deal before you. Go with your gut instinct, if it doesn't feel right, walk away, no matter if you have to dissapoint some people. They'll get over it, but financially, you might not.
Have a Spectacular 2012!
Natalie
